Jaguar brings back most iconic model
Jaguar has revived the beautiful E-Type. Unfortunately, though, only a very limited edition was made.
The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most iconic British sports cars of the last century. Jeremy Clarkson once described it as “one of the most beautiful things the British have ever made.” Fully justified, as far as we’re concerned. And we are obviously not the only people who think so, because an unnamed customer from Southeast Asia has ordered two brand new versions of the car. And Jaguar made them, too.
The two cars were made for a special anniversary. 50 years ago, production of the original E-Type ended. Therefore, these new examples are also packed with references to the earlier versions. For example, there is an engraving of the first E-Type in the center console. The interior is completely designed like the first E-Types, with leather, switches and wood. But modern conveniences have not been left out, as the car also just has bluetooth and an electronic influence in the engine.
And well, while you’re at it with an exclusive and special version of a classic… Jaguar stuffed the car with jewels. Pearls, silver and 18-carat gold decorate the inside of the cars. Jaguar emphasizes that these two examples are also really the only two versions being made and that no other new E-Types will be made.
That said, Jaguar Classic did often release restored versions of their older models. So possibly the enthusiast can still see some special versions of the old glory back.
